07 December 2009To combat the lack of energy and that lack lustre feeling that often follows the end of the year ABDN, the Asian Business Development Network, have organised a morning of inspiration and motivation to help local businesses combat new year blues and focus on their goals for the coming year.
'Inspire to Success' takes place on Thursday 21 January in Leeds and boasts an impressive line up of speakers from today’s business arena. Each will tell their story and provide tips and hints on how they achieved personal and business success.
Speakers include Deirdre Bounds who built her ethical travel business from her bedsit in Leeds and sold it for £20 million to First Choice after ten years. Also Amar Latif the founder of Traveleyes, the world’s first international air tour operator catering for the blind as well as sighted travellers. Amar, who is partially-sighted himself is an entrepreneur, a director, producer and TV actor all rolled into one and is a true role model.
The event taking place at the Leeds Met’s Ghandi Hall also includes Trescom Consulting founder Saeeda Ahmed. Trescom is an award winning social enterprise and community regeneration company working to improve economic, social and civic inclusion for the most excluded individuals.
Organiser Hamieda Begum of ABDN said: "We hope this new year event will energise the business people of Leeds and help them prepare and plan for a successful 2010. It can be hard to get going after the festive season and sometimes we all need a bit of motivation; we think our speakers will definitely get the audience fired up and ready to face anything!"
The half day event will also include informal workshops, lunch and an exhibition area. It is aimed at new start ups and those running a business for a while. (Timings 9.30am to 2.30pm)
The event is supported by Business Link Yorkshire and Sharing the Success.
